Born and raised in southern California, Jake Hays is a singer, songwriter, music producer, multi-instrumentalist, and actor. He discovered a love for music at age thirteen, and began professionally touring at the age of nineteen. Hays has written songs with Matt Sorum (Guns N’Roses, Velvet Revolver), Grammy Award-winner Holly Knight (Aerosmith, Pat Benatar) and Cherie Currie (The Runaways) to name a few. Hays signed with BMG/Vagrant Records in 2015 with his indie rock project Maudlin Strangers, and toured the US and Canada with acts like Bad Suns, Cold War Kids and LANY. Along with a love for music, Hays discovered a love for acting, and in 2016, he began to study the Meisner-technique at Playhouse West in North Hollywood. He later attended the world-renowned improv schools, The Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade. In November 2018, while Hays was away in Texas filming the indie 80s-inspired action movie Night Run, he lost his home and recording studio in the Woolsey Fire. In the following months of readjustment, he rented a small studio lockout where he would go on to record the “Room 13” EP, which includes his song “Sleep Talk”, which amassed over two million streams online. His latest single "All I've Got to Say" is available on all streaming platforms. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Hays booked and filmed his first theatrical role as Robert Ressler in the thriller, Ted Bundy: American Boogeyman alongside Chad Michael Murray, Holland Roden, and Lin Shaye, available on Hulu. You can contact him via email, instagram DMs, or saying his name three times in any haunted mirror.
